Controlling
Privacy and Daylight
Many windows
require a little extra privacy, such as those in
bathrooms and bedrooms.
However, you may still
want abundant light. By selecting pleated or
cellular shades, you can keep outsiders from
peering into your windows. PVC vertical blinds
also an excellent choice for privacy and these
can be tilted to let in as much or as little
light as you desire. Several mini blinds, and
wood blinds are Lite-TiteTM. These are blinds
that have been designed without rout holes,
which also provide
an excellent amount of privacy and like other
blinds can be tilted to permit as much or as
little light into the room.
Perhaps you work a night and therefore sleep
during the day, for you, room-darkening blinds
may be the best solution. You can also find room
darkening cellular shades that will block out
almost all light, so you can sleep more
peacefully.
In some instances, by covering the bottom of a
window will provide the amount of privacy and/
or light control you desire. For you, blinds
that have the top down/bottom up control may be
perfect for your solution.
Conserving Energy:
For areas with extreme climate, or in instances
where conserving energy is a must, then
insulating blind are the obvious solution.
Cellular shades that trap air between their
layers of materials will offer you good
insulation, while also providing you with light
filtering benefits and privacy. Cellular shades
that are double or tripled cell will have better
insulating qualities over single cell cellular
shades.
