Treatment Styles
When we talk about
the style of the window treatments, we're also
talking about the choice of fabrics, colors that
add to the beauty and enjoyment of your room.
You can add interest to
your windows by repeating fabrics, or colors
that are used in other parts of your room, or
use a contrasting border, cording, or fringe.
The unique touches you bring to your window
treatments reflect your individual style.
You can reflect your personal style in many ways
such as with draperies. They offer many options
in rod styles, such as tab tops, tie tops,
numerous types of pleats, grommets, rod pockets
size, flounce tops, or plain rings. Then you can
choose to use valances or not. If you choose to
use a valance, you also have several chooses
such as gathered, pleated, shirred, swaged,
bundled, formal, casual, scalloped, lace, or
flat.
With fabric shades, you have just as many
choices, if not more. Fabric shades are
available in many different styles including
flat Roman style, balloon, Austrian, bottom
arched, pleated, and flat panels, as well as
sheers and coordinating fabrics.
Perhaps you favor metal Mini Blinds, if so, then
you have several choices to select from in slat
weight and size, specialty finishes, privacy
options, header choices, cloth tapes, and if
that wasn't enough then how about the hundreds
of different colors they are available,
including special order colors.
If your tastes lean toward wood blinds, then you
have nearly as many choices. Wood blinds area
available in several colors, finishes, slat
sizes, and tape colors. There are a few styles
of wood blinds that are made without the usual
cord holes, to give a sleeker look. When
ordering wood blinds ask about different header
designs and cord control options.
If you like the look of cellular shades or
honeycomb shades, because of their clean look,
they come in both sheer and non-sheer materials.
With cellular shades, you have the choice of
single, double, or triple cell options as well
as card hardware.
Many styles of cellular shades have eliminated
the cord hardware, while others have loop
controls.
For those of you who like the look of natural
blinds, which are also referred to as matchstick
or bamboo blinds, you have several selections to
choose from as well. These blinds are available
in matchsticks, sewn slats, and several other
options,
which have a natural fabric-like appearance.
Then you also have several options for valances
roll or fold up operations as well as the type
of edge binding, and privacy liners to decide
on.
As you see, once you've decided on the type of
window treatments you want, you still have a lot
of other choices to make to find the perfect
solution to meet your home's requirements for
privacy, light control, function, and style.
